Windows open while traveling?

I was wondering what the consensus is out there for traveling with the windows open slightly. I thought this might make it a little cooler till we get power hooked up and the AC running.

We keep all windows closed but because we have a vent cover (Maxx Air) the vent stays open.

Did this in the motorhome once. My daughter was about 1 1/2 years old. We wondered what was going on when she started really laughing hard. From her strapped in car seat she could the roll of paper towel unrolling and about 12 feet of it whipping around the coach!

Windows open while traveling?

I installed a MaxxAir Fan Mate cover and leave the bathroom roof vent open. Depending on your route, dirt/dust kick up from the TV would probably find it's way into the open windows.

And from personal experience I can say that leaving a trailer window open when towing can damage blinds due to the force of the wind blowing through the open window.

I must travel dusty highways, if I leave my vent open (w/MaxxAir cover) there is a thin layer of dust on the counter tops and table.

Yup....first and LAST time leaving them open was last trip. Noticed dust on the countertops after a 2 hour highway drive.

Same here... My roof vent is open all the time with a maxi air cover except while driving. Too much dust!

Side windows closed for sure. Last time we towed a long distance and had the roof vent open (with vent cover installed) we had a nice sewer smell inside the TT which I believe due to the holding tank vent being so close to the roof vent it was pulling that nice fresh air in.

Definitely not on our Skylark. The windows hinge out from the top and rely on gravity to hold them down on the stops. The wind at highway speeds would be pretty bad for them.

On sliding windows I would be concerned about hitting a rain storm while driving and having to run back a shut all the windows once you could find a safe place to pull off.

Maybe you could open them while your significant other checks in at the camping office.

If you check your roll out windows you might find they are closed but have about an inch of lift if the control was not turned to the stop. I noticed a flapping window and on checking the others they were not fully closed down.

We always close up the trailer when traveling. No smells and no dust.
