Winter seasonal

Howdy to the group!
My wife and I have decided not to store the trailer this winter, but rather set it up on a winter seasonal site. We will use it as "home base" for skiing, snowmobiling, and shopping.

The question is regarding the slides.

Slide toppers or not? Those with toppers: does the topper prevent snow and ice buildup during a weekend stay? My intentions currently are to retract the slides on Sunday's before we head for home.

I see nothing good happening from leaving them opened during the week.... Adding to the roof square footage.

Toppers are a definite asset. We've been out in the snow, 7" one day, and if it wasn't for them we wouldn't have gotten the slides in. I also carried one of these which really helped pulling the excess off.

Roof snow rake.
