Winter storage on grass

Will storing my HTT on grass during the winter damage the underside of my trailer in any way? I know gravel is optimal but i'm not in a position to do anything permanent just yet. I was thinking of parking on blocks of some type to get the tires off the ground at least. The underside of the trailer is painted black but no other type of protection for the wood.

Your trailer doesn't really care what surface you park it on. If you want the tires off the ground jack up the frame and let them hang free.

Make sure that the grass is clipped short. the longer the grass and weeds, the more moisture will be retained and transmitted to the frame, hangers and axles. Rust can be a big factor in anything setting in grass for extended periods of time. I left a pickup set in grass a few years ago. The grass was still growing and we mowed around it regularly. The following year, I had to replace the brake lines due to rust. It was also very obvious that the frame rust had increased significantly.

Those rubber mats they use under office chairs to protect the carpet are good to put under the wheels to shield the bottoms of your tires.

You should be fine, but having some type of firm footing (2 x 6 pressure treated planks, etc.) under the tires and jack stand will minimize any impact from ground frost heaving, tires freezing in the ground, spring settling, etc. Park the HTT where surface water doesn't collect after a rain shower or snow melt as well.

Also have the tongue raised a little so that the roof water runs off the back of the HTT rather then over the front angled surface, and leave the corner stabilizers in the raised position.

Putting a couple small containers of Damp Rid (Walmart, etc.) in the HTT wouldn't hurt, along with a couple of mouse traps......, I do during my TT's winter storage.

Cut the grass short so mice cannot crawl up the weeds and get in.. then put wood blocks under the tires and you are good to go. Mothballs or CabFresh (from Amazon) will help keep the pesky critters out.

Thanks for the great advice! prepping the spot tomorrow since my cover will be arriving any day now. the section of my lawn isn't really lawn, mostly sand and weeds. I was also thinking of putting screening inside the external furnace and fridge door and putting steel wool inside the the little exhaust tube as well. i have my parking ramp to use for one side of the trailer (my driveway is wicked uneven side to side), will make another because i don't want my tires sitting in the sand/dirt.
