winterizing question

If i am hooked up to city water which is 2 and 6 for city fixtures on my control panel then why cant I just switch levers for hot water tank to bypass and put hose to anti freeze and turn on pump in the city fixture setting,I am putting water through everything in this position when I am hooked up at campground so couldnt I just run antifreeze through the same way instead of switching panel to winterize? What is the difference between the two settings-Thanks

I am a bit confused?? It would help if we knew what model you have. To winterize I always drain the system including the hot water tank. Switch the hot water tank to bypass. Then use the winterize hose by the pump. On mine that would be two more valves to turn by the pump. The city water has nothing to do with winterizing. (at least on mine)

I have a 351rlts,what I am trying to say is why cant i just unhook, bypass the hot water and pump anti freeze in after draining lines and turning pump on without switching to winterize, the antifreeze will still go through all the lines just like city water does when hooked up,i just dont understand what the difference is between city fixtures and winterize on the control panel, what exactly is the difference and what does it change, thanks for helping me understand
