Wish Me Luck (Soft Floor on White Hawk)

About half way through our trip to Massachusetts last month, SWMBO(*) noticed a "soft spot" in the floor in front of the stove in our White Hawk. As other threads have discussed here on the JOF, this is not uncommon. The spot under the floor covering is where two sheets of plywood butt up against each other and one of those pieces of plywood is no longer flat and is lifting the linoleum.

We made an appointment with the dealer and hope with his help, Jayco may be nice enough to do what they have done with some other members on this forum by extending some "goodwill assistance" to a rig that is a few months past the 2 year warranty.

We have our fingers crossed!

Murff

Got a call from the service manager today regarding the floor. It is not a repair they can do from the underside of the trailer. He said they will have to cut the flooring to do the repair.

A little anxious on this type of fix. Any of you had this done to your rig? How did it turn out?

Thanks in advance.

Murff it doesn't sound like a repair is *technically* needed....sorta in the same boat as cosmetic surgery, no?

Yeah it's "soft," no one would argue that. Yeah it's kinda disconcerting.

But would the "fix" cause more costly problems than it would correct?

Personally my opinion: I'd live with it and just enjoy the camper. Until you guys see linoleum cracking, I'd put your money into something else.

A BIG HOO-RAY to Jayco!!!!

I just got a call from my Jayco Dealer Service Manager and he told Jayco is covering the repair to our White Hawk floor!

Who says Jayco's Goodwill Assistance is dead?

A big THANK YOU to Jayco!!!

That's good news! Despite all the bashing on these forums, I have found Jayco (the company, not the dealerships) to be pretty easy to deal with.

X-2, but there are many dealerships who are "customer oriented".

I should mention the Dealer is Blade RV in Mount Vernon Washington. They have nothing short of great the last 2+ years that we have been dealing with them!

Thanks all. The service manager was concerned about the remainder of the camping season and suggested putting the repair off until late September. That will work for us.

So nice to post a positive here on the JOF!

Glad to hear it'll work out. That must be a huge relief off your mind. Let us all know how it works out in the fall.
