Wood stain match

Our Jay Feather has several areas that were left without stain on them. I was hoping that someone has found a match or a color code. I had a can of Danish cherry wood stain but it does not match. The color of the wood is more brown.
One area that was left was the cutlery drawers. This surprised me. I think I will paint these white.

I had a couple of panels that needed re-stained as well. I doubt if any of us will know what the paint decor actual numbers will be.

What I did was just take a small panel I could remove down to the local hardwre store (Lowes) and matched up the color as close as I could get it. Looked great when I was done.

I practiced putting on the stain on the inside of a closet first.

My deal was I modified the doors of a catch-all cabinet just as you come into our trailer and made it into a home entertainment center for the HDTV and its components like most of the trailers have. I was able to move some cabinet doors from the bathroom area that fit the home entertainment cabinet changes I made and then picked out a slightly different designed door which was all I could find at Lowes to put back into the bath room.

Had to stain this new set of doors to match the trim. Turned out ok... Only ME knows the slightly different design on the bathroom cabinet doors. It was close enough that the DW didnt say anything yet anyway hehe...

We both was happy to move the original HDTV living room corner location out to a better location for the living room and the kitchen to both view it better. Then I was able to make a small computer setup in the living room corner section.

I guess you could contact the manf for original exact trim color information???
I think I saw a color chart handout at Lowes but it was easier for me to just take a small piece of wood with me and match it that way as close as I could.

For small scratches we used those wood coloring markers that you can get from furniture stores or at the dollar store (in Canada) they match very well as they come in a set of three colors that you can combine by using the lighter one first and going over with the next closest match. Hope you find something that works.

I have built cabinets for over 25 years. Believe me matching stain can be a long pains taking ordeal. Even with the correct stain, lumber from a different, say cherry trees can come out a little different in color. Even temp when staining can cause it to come out a shade different in color. If you can get the correct stain great but if not close may be the best you can do. Good luck.
