This is an awesome video showing most of the physical properties encountered. It show the importance of weight distribution, and the phenomena of "tail wagging the dog". The only thing they could change to make it more comprehensive would be to show the effects of a heavier tow vehicle, and the effects of a longer trailer.
It seems like there are a lot more people who are buying trailers which, according to dealers, meet the weight limitations of their tow vehicles. Yet, in reality, once loaded they become too heavy, and many times the trailer is within the weight limits but is still too long.

And not surprisingly we are both getting some of the same news
Was a cool video. Usually after I've figured how what method of Caffeine I need to get through the day, I fire up the machine and hit facebook to make sure I'm not missing my wife's birthday or something (kinda kidding on that one), and once in a while something cool is in there.

And this model doesn't take into account the driver. Who - if they are really good and calm, might correct the situation - and if they panic and over react, could easily make it even worse.
I followed the links back to YouTube but I can't find the original source of this video. It looks like (from the logo in the back) that it might have been done by uHaul corporate. I was looking because I hopped they had more!

Yes but I try to avoid big fingers like that on the highway ..........and besides towing with a Mustang is like asking a professional tennis player to play pong .

Very true! And who the heck tows a trailer that looks like that anyway?
But on a serious note. How do you all "Know" that you have your trailer weight properly distributed? I'm having a heck of a time with our new one. The DW keeps trying to stuff everything under the bed (up front) and there isn't a lot of room for large heavy things in the back.

Tongue weight is the only way to be sure. I always heard it should be at least 10% of total trailer weight, but many now say 12-15%. Your nearest public scale can help with the distribution question. Perhaps a local moving van and storage company.
Almost forgot, the heaviest weight should be right over the axle(s). Weight can be properly distributed in terms of fore and aft, but if too much of it is at the ends, you ultimately get the same effect as shown in the video.
