Wrinkled Power Awning Normal?

Just as the title says, when your powered awning is rolled up does it have a "wrinkled" look? I'm noticing some wear near the edges and I don't believe it was installed tight enough. See the photos.

I have also noticed that mine is doing the same thing this year. Mine is a 2015 32bhds. When it is out there are no wrinkles in it though.

Are your arms set at the same heights? We set one lower for runoff but it has to compensate for the difference somehow.

Those wrinkles are likely caused by the awning not being aligned along the edge against the coach wall vs the edge along the roller. If one of those edges gets ahead of the other, it will eventually misalign when it's rolled up. In other words, when viewing from the curb side of the RV, one of those edges has inched toward the front or toward the back of the RV, so the awning is being rolled up while it's out of square. Chances are, it's the edge that fits into the roller, as the one against the coach is usually screwed into place so it won't move. Shouldn't be a big deal unless it has actual folds or creases in the rolls and wrinkles, or unless you leave it that way long term.

Mine does the same thing at the rear end of the awning, though not quite to the same extent yet.

Mine is doing this. I'd like to correct it as it just doesn't look proper. What is the best way to approach this on my own. Not something I'm making a trip to bother the dealer over.

I'm going to try to get it fixed under warranty. I'm bringing her in next week. I'll let you know what they say.

Mine is not a power awning and has looked like this from day one. There were no issues opening and closing it at the PDI so I thought nothing of it at the time. After a couple of trips the tops of the rails had to pushed in by hand, they don't simply snap in. It has not gotten any worse and it opens and closes just fine otherwise. I'm not overly concerned about it.

That would be great. I know my dealer would handle this for me, but it seems like something I could possibly take care of on my own in the meantime.

I have a punchlist of tiny little things that my dealer will take care of in the fall for me and if this is something beyond my skillset I'll just add it to the list.

Wow.

What was the "justification" the dealer used to get THAT authorized?

Some folks have a hard time getting failed roofs warrented, and you got them to install a new awning?!!! Over some wrinkles!!?

Just the fabric? Or the whole system?

My whole awning looks like a wrinkled dress shirt because it was not lined up properly when they installed it.

Mine has a little of that too.. and the fabric was just replaced for a different reason.
Not a big deal IMO. The awning works fine. Most awnings i see have a few ripples when rolled up.

With my manual awning I have the same problem unless I let it retract a bit, then pull back with the strap every few inches. Doing that seems to tighten the fabric on the roller.
