Yamaha ef2400ishc inverter

I am ready to pull the trigger on on of these inverters. I have read all good reviews on it and is there any reason why I should not do it.

I do not have one of them but anything I have ever owned from Outboard motors to ATV`s with the Yamaha name on it have been top notch quality and very hard to beat. Just my 2 cents worth.

The only reason I chose the Honda over those were; two people who had done side-by-sides and heard a definite difference in noise between the two. I wanted the quietest units on the market. Only reason, all the reviews on operation and reliability were great.

We have one from when we had our Pop up camper. We have the larger a/c unit on our travel trailer and this generator will not work to run it. It used to be able to run the a/c unit on the PUP. We have owned it for about 4 yrs without any issues.

We want one that can run a 13,500 btu AC unit. I don't know that we ever will use it for that, but claims are that it can. I don't want to go to a 3000watt unit because of the weight and cost. We most likely will just have this to run our trailer as well as our friends, basic electrical needs and charge batteries when we go out dry camping.

It did run our 13,500 btu Carrier Air a/c just fine. Our new TT has the 15,000 BTU and it won't work for this one. The unit we have can't be parallel with another unit. But it will charge our batteries. Hope this helps.

There are only two words you need to know when it comes to generators.

HONDA and YAMAHA In that order.

Red and blue are both AWESOME generators. I have 2 2000watt that can be linked together, but I haven't had to do that just yet. I'm sure I will this summer. I can't remember why I picked the Yamaha over the Honda, but really- its like apples to apples here. It mostly comes down to minor differences and personal preferences.

All we do is dry camping-- with that said:
The drag about the Yamaha is that they can't be run parallel (two hooked together)-- so if it doesn't run your AC you'll take a hit. If it does run it... your golden (but only up to around 3000 feet). We bought our EU2000's with that in mind. Ended up with two, one usually stays home, unless we go above 3000 feet above sea level. At which point one EU will not run our 13.5BTU AC.

Having 4K Watts is certainly not a bad thing-- being able to split up that weight isn't either. Being under powered on the other hand is a bad thing-- IF the AC is important to you... consider going bigger or going with the Honda that can run parallel (if need be).

I have a Kipor 2000 generator and it works as directed and mine is just as quiet as the two name brands mentioned here and for half the price.

The AC isn't a big deal we just want to be able if we ever need to. It typically cools off in the evenings here.

I went with the Yamaha 2800 - probably a little more than what your looking for. It runs the AC fine, and I went bigger to use as a back up for household electricity. For it's size it's pretty quiet and runs really well.

It would likely be a little loud to use in a tight CG, but works really well while tailgating or when out by yourself.

There is about a 60% chance it will run your AC. Depends on how hot it is, what your elevation is, and what brand of AC you have. Coleman AC units are notoriously hard to run on a marginal generator. While the Yamaha gens are as reliable as the Honda's, this one really may ONLY run your AC sometimes. I have the Honda EU2000, should I ever need to run the AC, I'll buy another one and parallel them.

Well I picked up the Honda eu3000is. I am not sure of the year but it is in great shape and had the original box. The guy said it was about 4 years old. It is heavier than what I was looking for but the price was right. $1200, divorce sale. Like they say "cheaper to keep her". Not much of a Valentines day slogan but what the heck.

Good deal-- you'll be happy once you have it hooked up-- carrying it though will be a PITA though.

You can't beat that price!

The carrying part is a worry but the price was the deal.

Just picked up one of these Yamaha 2400. I was extremely bummed when it failed to run our 13,500ac unit at sea level @ 65 temp. Also think it is lame for yamaha to advertise that one of its key features is to run a 13,500ac unit while on a different page of there site it claims it is not intended to run any ac unit. I generally perform my due diligence on any purchase I make and feel that I have been suckered on this one. My bad. (Hard start, time delay fans, etc... I know)
Just venting,
