Yamaha EF3000ISEB
Hi All, I have purchased a Eagle HT 29.5BHDS with a 13,500 BTU ac unit and a 30 amp power service. Is anyone out there used the Yamaha EF300ISEB to power it? Will it be enough? Would my money be better spent on a different generator?

I run 13,500 btu AC with Yamaha EF2400iSHC Inverter Generator
, however , everything has to be off, including the converter, power one appliance at a time , if no AC , don't have to worry about converter kicking in, can use microwave or tea kettle no problem, you should be fine with yours

IMO you wouldn't have a problem with the EF3000iSEB running your 13.5K A/C...., not sure if you will be able to run the Micro at the same time. I know the EF3000 comes with wheels, but at 155lbs dry it may be a little on the heavy side if one has to be lifting it around frequently.
I have the Yamaha EF2400iSHC (75lbs dry) and it runs my 13.5K A/C without a problem, just can't run the Micro at the same time. My converter/charger (charging batteries) and some minor electrical (LED light, cell charger, etc.) draw don't bother the genny with the A/C on. I do however leave my frig and HWH on LP. I did add the Yamaha wheel kit, makes it a little easier moving it around the TV box without having to remove the tonneau cover.

I was concerned about having enough power with a 3000 as well and the size of it, not easy to handle by myself. I decided to go with 2 2000 hondas and hook them together. basically the same price but have more power.

We have the honda version of that generator and it runs our AC unit fine.

I sold my Yamaha 3000 because it was to heavy. Bought the Champion 3100 Inverter at a fraction of the cost and a lot lighter 79lbs with more power & just as quiet. Powers our 15000btu ac & everything else..

Hey Calgary could elaborate on the champ 3100? I am looking at this one as well or the two smaller Champs tied together. How is the 3100 runtime, and you said it will run the AC and everything. At the same time or do you need to manage things a little? Sorry if I took this off topic.

As you can see in my signature I run two Yamahas. Combined they provide 30 amps of service. Weigh only 44# each.

I have the Yamaha and have been very happy with it. It runs my 13,500 no problem, with other things plugged in as well. Clean power. Quiet, sips gas.
The unit is heavy. I made a ramp and I push it up to the bed of my truck. One good thing about being heavy, it may be less easy to steal. Someone can't simply pick it up and put in the bed of their truck when your back is turned.
Overall, highly recommended, it will meet all your power needs.

Only had the Champ for a few months & not even used a tank of gas yet. Took it with us on our last trip even though we had a full hook up. Just wanted to try her out.Ran great & ran on eco mode all the time even with a/c on & a few other things at the same time.

Thanks for all the input, it is very helpful. My biggest drawback that i see with running the 2 2000's is the fuel tank size on them is much smaller which would require more frequent fill ups.

Glad you were able to get one, for the money the Champion 3100 is hard to beat. I have since put mine to some serious use at work to try it out for a small construction project and a lengthy home power outage (5 hours). Weight is great and really easy to transport....got some good comments from other campers last season too.

I have this unit and it runs my 15K without issue plus the converter. I would not run the micro and this at the same time, but it will run any appliance in the unit. Yes it's heavy, but it also serves my home well during power outages so I deal with the weight the few times I need to move it. The Camco adaptor plugs right in and converts to an RV 30A outlet.

I would really be surprised if the Champion ran in eco-mode when pushing your AC, let alone running other electric items in your RV.
