2012 X17Z - New Member

We are new to the hybrid TT world, but after numerous issues with our purchased new popup, decided to upgrade to the hybrid.

We decided on the 17Z mainly due to the tow capacity of our '09 Honda Pilot, plus there are only the two of us so we didn't feel the low carrying capacity would be an issue.

We picked up our 17Z on June 5, and took it on the maiden voyage two days later . So far, we are extremely pleased with the way our Pilot tows the camper, and the liveability of the unit. Our two scheduled "big" trips this year are a 1 weeker to the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont to mountain bike, then a 3+ weeker out to Durango, CO and Moab, UT for more mountain biking. I guess you can tell by our name that we camp in order to mountain bike at new places. The new hybrid should make these trips much easier than our popup would have.

Over the past week, I've gotten a lot of great information from the forum, and some ideas for nice mods to the unit. I really liked the square fence post used to house the sewer hoses - I'm hitting Lowes on the way home from work to pick up the supplies to get that one done this weekend

Really glad we found this forum.

Welcome to JOF!
Enjoy your biking out @Moab. My fellow Jeepers say it's an offroad Paradise there.

That fence post mod was the best I'd seen. Up until that post, I couln't figure out how to make the 4" diameter PVC pipe that is readily availble work...I saw the 4.75" square comment and thought " they make this stuff in that dimension??, Perfect !"
