2012 X19H - New Member
Stopping in to say Hello...
Picked up our 2012 X19H this past Saturday 6/2 from Orlando RV. Grew up camping here and there from a Tent to a 5th Wheel, have not been camping for many years (life gets in the way sometimes), we have 1 Son who is 6 and it was time to get him Camping so took the plunge.
After researching all the manufacturers and looking at late model used I am happy we purchased a new Jayco. I seriously considered a 17Z as I wanted to stay as compact as possible but after looking at the 17 & 19 together and doing a lot of research, including reading this great forum, I decided the low carrying capacity would be an issue in the long run. Anything larger was not something I considered as I wanted to stay compact and as nimble as possible.
Stepping up to the 19H provided us the larger carrying capacity with aproximately a 500 lb increase in dry weight, minimal xtra tongue weight and the xtra axle which itself is a positive plus 2 feet to provide more storage and longer couch. The dealer happened to have a 19H on the lot with the interior we wanted and all the options we would have wanted so was a win win for us. Only option I have I am not excited about is the Power Awning... we will see how that works out.
Wanted to add... as far as the negotiation process, as stated on multiple forums including JOF, 30% off MSRP was a good number and attainable.
I am towing with a 2007 Land Rover LR3 4.4 V8, pulled it with no issues.
Looking forward to participating on the Forum.
