Almost an empty nest

My wife and I are one year away from being empty nesters and decided that an RV would be a great way for us to spend some of our free time.

Yesterday we purchased a new White Hawk 23MRB that will leave the factory on 7/15. We are super excited about our purchase, but somewhat overwhelmed about all of the preparations we'll need to make once we have the unit.

I have fond memories of camping with my parents as a kid and look forward to creating more with my wife and eventually my grandkids (which better be a LONG way off).

Congrats my wife and I are pretty much empty nesters too and use our trailer a lot. People ask how many it sleeps and we say two and a dog. My kids are 22 and 25, the oldest live 26 hours away and the youngest can work and watch the house while we are away.

Enjoy the rig and the new experience. We love to have the kids and grands visit and we love to visit them.

Hardly any camping with them anymore but somehow we manage to enjoy the lifestyle.

Welcome to JOF!

Congrats and welcome from soon to be empty nesters in Colorado.

We have owned TTs for 10 years or so, and now are looking forward to some just "us" time in our 5th wheel.

Congrats on the new rig and reaching empty nester level with enough in the tank to enjoy it. Something a friend learned was to park it at a storage facility a few miles from home so it doesn't look like a guest house to the kids. As the novelty wears off, you can slowly work your way into keeping it parked at home.

Enjoy - post pics of your first outing

Thanks all.

Hopefully the rig will be in early next week.

Anybody know how long it takes for the RVs to get from Indiana to California?

3 days if the driver wants to make any money.

Comgratulations on the new RV and your impending empty-nest status. And having grandkids around is a lot of fun, but I understand your thoughts on not rushing that.

We are also empty nesters and are enjoying RVing as a couple. Well, technically there are three of us, as the dog is always in tow.

Sometimes when camping, we smile with great memories as we watch others playing with their kids. But hey, that's what grandkids are for, right? (something I keep impatiently reminding our kids that we are surely due for? LOL)

We are in absolutely no hurry at all to be grandparents! My son not quite 17, so he has a while.

Congratulations. We certainly enjoy our HTT, with kids in tow.

There will be a lot to learn, so ask lots of questions.

Definitely asking a lot of questions. Everybody here has been super helpful. Only problem is, every time I visit this forum, I have to add something else to my Amazon Wish List.
