..and we're back... to Jayco

Hello! We just purchased a new 2017 Jayco North Point 387RFDS 5-er. This marks our return to the Jayco brand after a 30+year absence.

We started out with in 1977 with a Champion motorhome, then a 24' Jayco travel trailer back 1984, moved to larger trailers, park models, a 41' diesel pusher motorhome and now a fifth wheel.

We're very happy with the "fit and finish" of our new Jayco and we look forward to more (s)miles on the road. We look forward to meeting our new Jayco family!

Congratulations and like the cottonwood interior. It was my choice but I was overridden. Enjoy

Welcome to JOF. Those new ones must have the "stick on the ceiling" option per your picture! LOL

We have been looking at the same model, but wondered about the weight. What are you pulling this monster with? Any suggestions for someone looking at a 387rfds for purchase? Does yours have two or three AC units? Thanks!

We have a 2017 Ram 2500 with Cummins turbo - not dually. We've gone coast-to-coast and have not had one bit of trouble or issues. We're not full-timers, so our "take alongs" are pretty minimal. We are cautious about not overloading, but it's only the DW and me, that's not an issue.

I have a 2017 387 with a dry weight of 14189 and pulled with a 2012 F350 SRW . We packed light and put the heavier items in the rear of the camper. Our scaled pin weight was 3400 which put me close to RAWR. I was over GCVWR by 200 and truck GVWR by 500. Truck did fine 99% of the time but the 1% convinced me to go to DRW. It was the smartest decision we have made. It also allowed us to pack camper how we wanted since pin weight was not an issue.

We have 2 ac’s and they keep camper in mid 70’s in July at the beach. Our last camper was 37’ and was easier to maneuver. However we have taken this one to the same cg’s as our previous but it is tighter.

Hope this helps and good luck
