We recently got a 2014 Jayco JayFeather 197. We just got it in covered storage and are reading up on what's next before our first trip in about two weeks.
I'm a little concerned that the temps are about to drop here in DFW pretty drastically. It was supposed to be winterized from the dealer, but I'm wondering if we need to do anything more before the cold snap this week.
We're new to all this, so looking forward to learning tips and tricks here!
Welcome ,Neighbor ! We live on the coast so it just does not freeze like that here,but in Dallas Heck yes,there are a lot of people here that can give you info on that,i just drain my water and all tanks ,and leave all valves open,but that's me and it may not work for your area .....

The temp would have to be low freezing for at least 12 hours before I would worry as well you said that the dealer has winterized it. Leave it as is and do not worry.

Welcome to JOF. I live in Plano so we are not far from each other. Next week is supposed to be in the mid 30's so not freezing.. Nothing you will need to do. If you don't plan on using your TT over the winter then make sure your low point drains are open, your hot water heater is drained and you blow out all of your water. You should also go ahead and either get the pink anti-freeze or you can use windshield wiper fluid for the toilet. You want to keep the seal wet there without freezing. We are not going to winterize ours yet as we have an outing planned for Thanksgiving. Last year we camped in January, March and April..
We are far enough out that they were calling temps of 28 one night and 31 the next, but I'm hoping it doesn't dip quite that low yet and stays away until maybe January
We plan to continue to use our camper during the winter too, so I was hoping that as long as we drain the tanks in between trips, we'd be okay. But I was worried about going the next step and using anti-freeze or blowing out the lines yet.
