First time TT owner - Jayco 23BHM on the way

I camped a lot with my folks as a kid in a couple of different TTs, but me and the wife have been tent camping since we met almost 20 years ago. We're both approaching 50 and are tired of getting rained on (and having wet clothing/bedding when the tent leaks), so we decided to buy a new truck and a new camper in the hopes we can enjoy many days of camping before our kids get to where they don't want to spend as much time with us any more.

We're both a bit nervous about doing this on our own, but I know its not rocket surgery and I'm a voracious reader/browser so I will spend all my free time reading advice and tips (not to mention the user guide cover-to-cover). We plan to sign papers on Saturday and then pick it up a weekend or two later (once we get our hitch and other necessities). We already have an in-town camping trip planned in about 4 weeks.

Congratulations and welcome to JOF! The DW and I jumped in with both feet on a new TV and TT and are loving it.

Congratulations on the new 2017 Jayco 23BHM and welcome to the forum. I'm sure you will have a great time, especially with the kids. You are right, once they reach a certain age, they don't want to do things like camping with their parents.
