Gettin' Ready!

Greetings Everyone...
We're new to RVng so we're pretty excited about getting started. Just purchased a 2012 Jayco Eagle 32' & 2015 Ford F250 to pull it. So far we've camped out in the driveway (LOL) and getting ready for a trip to Fredricksburg, Tx soon. I'm retired military and seen quite a bit of the world and now want to see the good ol' US of A. We're both retired now and ready to get started. Just seems like there is a lot to see and enjoy so we're gonna go for it. Wish us luck and any "tidbits" of advice are greatly appreciated. Oh... so my handle is Sawdust and my puppet is Woodchip. I'm a Shriner Clown and my wife is a Clownette (Stitches) & we visit the Shine Hospitals for Children. I discovered that was my other purpose in life after serving our country.

Welcome.... We should take delivery of our new TT this week after a couple year break.

I used to go to the circus in Houston as a kid when the Shiner's we apart of it. They are such a great organization and really helped a family member years ago at the burn hospital.

Thank you for your multiple types of service!

PS... We're from Murphy... You might know where that is at..

It was an honor to serve our country. Each and everyone of you were all worth it.
Yup.. the hospitals are great as well as the circus... which by the way will be in Frisco, Tx in March. I kinda know about that one 'cause I'm also the Circus Daddy which helps set it all up. Lots of new acts and performances and of course my clown family (about 30) will be there for the children. LOL

Thanks for the heads up on the circus. I'd like to take our kids this year.

Congratulations on the "new-to-you" Eagle, welcome to The Forum, and thank you for your service to our country. I'm wintering just down the road from Fredericksburg in Ingram.

Thank you for serving our country in more ways then one (made me smile to read "Each and everyone of you were all worth it"! My Grandfather also served our country and then became "PAPA the clown" with the Shriners! I always tell people that if I end up HALF the man my Grandfather and Father were and are, that I would be doing good!

Have a great time on the road and be safe!

welcome to the forum my fellow veteran!!!!! I served for 7 years not long enough to retire from it but one to many close calls made me get out! your volunteer work is awesome, I currently am employed as a public servant and in addition to that I am considering some charity with the meals on wheels but I am torn between to volunteer in the city I work for or the city I reside in. I know many of the senior citizens in the city that employs me and very few in the city that I reside in. If you have any input for my situation it would be greatly appreciated semper fi my friend!!!
