Going to be new Jayco owner from Iowa

Hi
Me and my wife are going to be new Jayco owners in Dec. We purchased a Eagle Premier 361REQS. We are excited to get it. Dealer said delivery would be around Dec.11,2012. Have owned alot of Rv,s but never a Jayco. We live in Iowa and camp all year around. Been checking this forum out for quite awhile and looks like alot of good information and people on here.

Thanks everyone and I am sure we will enjoy it. Just like a kid at Christmas can't wait to get it and hope the weather is good when it comes in. Don't know why so excited as this is not out first new one. Again Thanks.

I'm from Iowa also and am thinking of buying a Jayco (Flight 22FB). How do you camp in Iowa in the winter using your RV?

Just watched a YouTube video of this fifth wheel. Wow! Super nice! My kind of floorplan too.

Hi cdedbdwings
We have camped in the winter for years like this. Have camped every month of the year. Have to pick and choose the weather a little bit. We have a couple camp grounds that have the bathrooms open in the winter. I use an electric heat for the most of the heating and set the furnace at a temp and ours is 68. It will come on from time to time in the night. We build a fire and put a tarp behind to sheild the wind. My 2 boys and the grandkids love it. When gets dark we go in. Nobody to bother you not even the bugs. We use our 5 gal water jug for all our water. Only do this for a weekend. It isn't home but it is fun. Have fun and try it not that bad.

Hello fellow Iowans! Hmmm... You got me thinking about this winter camping thing. We might have to give it a try! Now if I can push the sledding and snowshoeing aspects I might have a shot

Welcome and congratulations on your new purchase. I can understand your excitement! We're thinking of camping over New Years at a local CG.

If it doesn't get any colder than this here in Iowa we will be out New Years also. As there is no place to party around here. Dealer called Thur. and said delivery is going to be next week sometime what a bummer.

Cruzinfools: Love your idea. You are right. Quite often there are pretty warm weekends right in the middle of January. Can you tell me the campgrounds that leave their bathrooms open all winter? By the sounds of your explanation, you don't use the water system in your camper at all and just leave it winterized?
