Smile Got a new (used) 2013 Jayfeather x23b hybrid

Hi All,

Happy to be here! I'm glad I found this forum. I just picked up a travel trailer on Thursday and I'm excited for the season to start up. My family is very excited, this is our first camper.

Also, I would appreciate some advice on the slide outs for these if anyone has experience. I didn't have my trailer home for 10 minutes when the roll pin inside the gearbox for the slide out sheered off. I'm waiting for the dealership to call but it seems like this might be something I could easily fix if I can figure out how to get a new roll pin in the gearbox. It seems like most internet searches don't produce much results, the service repair industry seems to be tightly held by repair facilities/dealerships.

That's the only disappointment so far, but being used, I guess things happen. Otherwise it is a really beautiful camper.

Your going to love your camper. Wow not sure how the shear pin got sheared. There is a clutch that clicks once you here it let go of button for close or open. There is a couple of guys on this site that has added a storage compartment behind the dinette. Great idea for storing blankets and such. I just bought the material to do mine.

Welcome and enjoy that trailer for a long time.
When you install that new pin don't just call it good to go but try your best to find out how it failed because I think this is very unusual for an almost new unit.

Thanks all. Yeah I thought it unusual as well. The roll pin that got sheared is inside the gear box (see pic) and I don't even see a way to even access it. I can pull the motor off but I still can't get to the gear. I can't figure out how to get the axle off the gear to pull the entire assembly out to put in a new pin. At this point, I'm going to let the dealership fix it but I would like to know how to fix it if it does it again. It was weird, there was no obstruction on the slide or anything, it just went snap.

Just an update: Got the TT back from the dealership, they fixed it up, and even replaced my screen that I didn't mention. So I'm ready to rock and roll and the slide out is working great now.
