Hello Fellow Jaycoers!!
Well, we jumped right in. My wife Cristen, finally got what she wanted...her first RV. Just purchased a Jay Flight 28BHBE yesterday, so we're part of the family! We are rookies at this, so it should be interesting.
Bought a Toyota Tundra a few days ago. 5.7L with the tow package, so I feel comfortable I can handle the Jay Flight. We originally were looking at the entry level TT's, and the cheaper ones at that. The DW really did her homework, but she did not want to spend much more than 20k new. So, we went to the dealership looking at Cruiser RV Shadow Cruisers. Not bad, but the reputation was questionable...not a whole lot of info. I was really surprised with the exceptionally rep of Jayco; however, we didnt want to drop another ten grand on our first RV. Just had to buy the dang truck 3 days ago!!
Well, after I talked DH into at least looking at the Jayco's, I was hooked. The quality of construction and craftmanship was much superior. And the price was just not going to keep me from buying a better brand. "If you want your RV, then this is the direction we are going...dadgumit!", I said to my wife, in my head. Then out loud, I sweetly argued in favor of better quality and warranty. Didn't take much; she fell in love with the Jay Flight anyway. And the buying experience was the best we have ever encountered with any vehicle.
So, here we are. I have been lurking at this website for two days, and I am really impressed with the posters and their advice. We look forward to getting to know you all!
Oh, and a little info about ourselves. We are in our mid thirties with 3 kiddos- 13, 9, and 5. Home base is North Texas. Both in real estate and self employed, so this RV will be used frequently.
