Hello from a new Jayco owner!
Hello everyone! My wife and I are picking up our new 2015 White Hawk 24rdb this coming Friday! As first time rv owners, we are really excited (and a bit nervous too!) We are really looking forward to getting out of the city and away from the daily grind.
I have several questions I would like to ask the experienced folks here on the forum, but I will post those elsewhere as instructed by the moderator. I did read through the "new bee" post, and found it extremely helpful.
Look forward to sharing our experiences with you all!

Welcome to JOF and the new experience.
There is loads of info already posted here but don't be afraid to ask questions,
as someone said, "Some of it is useful."

Thanks for the warm welcome!
As a newbie, I am looking everywhere I can for good information on getting started. Particularly, I am interested in getting an idea of what equipment I really must have before using my trailer the first time (we are going to have a "shakedown" session at a campground right near our house).
I found this forum thread, and the reply from WIBadger was awesome for me:
http://www.jaycoowners.com/forums/f7...d-19508-2.html
Does anyone have any additional info they would pass along? I am thinking specifically about equipment/procedures related to my trailer rather than general camping supplies.
Once again, thanks for the warm welcome! I will post a pic of our "baby" when I pick it up next weekend!

Welcome dscott, we live in Cumming. There are some great campgrounds on L. Lanier that I think people would travel quite a way to stay at. We have worn out Shady Grove for our shakedown cruise and several long weekends. It's been great for "educating" us as we are new to owning a tt ourselves.

Mothernaturesson, Thanks for the tip about Shady Grove. We are actually located in Acworth, but I put Atlanta to be a bit more generic. It isn't far to the Lake Lanier area - we'll definitely check it out!

Hey everyone! We brought our new "baby" home in the rain late last Friday night. After a 2.5 hour drive, I was trying to run down the hydraulic jack and realized I had NO power from the new battery. Luckily, I could plug in (I had a 30 amp outlet installed in the shed where I keep the camper) so we could disconnect the trailer and get the slides open, etc. The next morning, I went out to see what was wrong and found a broken fuse on the battery itself - a result of a really poor job the dealership did with the connection. They basically made up the battery connection with an old wire nut, 2 loops of electrical tape, and a prayer. It was pretty easy to fix.
We spent Saturday night in the trailer, and tried out all the systems except for the toilet/black tank. So far the only problem I have found that I couldn't handle is that my water heater will not work under electrical power. I keep getting an alarm fault when I try to switch from LP to electrical. I've read the manual and checked the simple stuff, but trying to figure out the electronics in the water heater panel is a bit above my skill level.
We are going to go for our "checkout" trip this coming weekend at a campground just 5 miles from home. After that, I figured I would call the dealer and set up a time to get the water heater (and any other issues that arise) fixed.
So far, so good. Thanks to all for your great advice and warm wishes!

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your purchase. Don't forget cleaning supplies. We bought the Swiffer starter kit at Sam's Club to mop the floors. It's amazing how much dirt and dust makes it into the trailer.
