Hello from a potential newbie!

Hi all! I'm here to learn as my husband and I are considering a purchase of a new Greyhawk. We have three young children and travel frequently with them, thinking it may be time to step up our 'road trip game' and take our hotel room with us! We know almost nothing about RVing, certainly will have many questions and looking forward to reading and learning more.

Thanks!

Welcome to the JOF lovliefam! We loved to travel when our kids were young. Wound up traveling the 'lower 48' mostly with a pop-up tent trailer (like a mansion upgrade from a tent LOL). Jumping right into the m/h should be a comfy experience for your family. As you have questions, ask away. JOF has the friendliest members eager to help up out others with their knowledge and experience. Click on my link below my signi for member generated suggestions on how to save up to 30% off your new Jayco

We purchased our first RV 2 years ago as complete newbies, a travel trailer. We also have small kids. One thing I have learned in 2 years is "you don't know what you don't know". For this reason I might encourage you to look for a slightly used unit. Now that we have a dozen or so trips and welcomed kid #3, we have a much better idea of what we should have purchased. However we have not made the upgrade yet due to the loss we will take on our current TT, which we bought new. Not that buying used would mean we wouldn't still be taking a loss, but at least someone else would have shared in the initial depreciation.

Other than that we love the change from hotels to campgrounds, and so do our kids.

Thank you for the warm welcome, all. We took the plunge and purchased a 2014 Greyhawk bunkhouse, taking delivery in a few days. Ready to find out what we don't know we don't know! ;-)

What I did when I first got started in Rving was to join a web site like this and read almost every thread. I also joined the RVNet forum. Ask as many questions that you have. We were all newbies at one time.
