Hello from Bend, Oregon

We purchased a 2013 Jay Flight Swift SLX 154BH. Have it in storage until mid-March. Doing lots of reading and research. We've been lifetime campers but now in retirement we decided to start trailering with our son. I like the idea of doing the shakedown night(s) in the driveway. Reading the forums on the Swift SLX's has been great.
We are towing with a 2011 Ford Escape XLT w/3.0 4WD and tow package. The brake controller has been paid for but not installed. I didn't think to ask what brand it was. I read in some forums that the proportional controller is better. Tekonsha gets lots of mentions. Maybe the Primus IQ or P3 controllers?
Will try smaller local trips, lots of beautiful places in Oregon, and have planned a Glacier National Parks trip for end of June - beginning of July.

Welcome to Jayco Owners Forum. Yes, you do have plenty of great places to go camping right in your back yard so please take some pics of that beautiful state of yours and post them . Glad you are a part of the forum.

Hey & welcome. We are just outside of Medford Oregon and planning to camp in Bend soon. We are members of Thousand Trails and they have a park there we want to check out. Just ordered a 2014 White Hawk from the factory so we will be on the road soon.
