Hello from California!

Hi everyone, Eric and Amy checking in from Southern California! We just bought our first travel trailer, a 2013 Jayco Jay Flight 24FBS. The dealer says they expect it to be delivered around December 19. Lucky for us we have the kind of weather here that we can camp all year! We've been wanting to buy one for quite some time now, always going the RV shows and picking up brochures. My wife grew up in a camping family, going all over the US in campers and trailers. Her parents are still avid campers and we're already talking about where we can all go together! I'm completely new to this lifestyle, but I think I'll be able to adjust just fine! Both my father-in-law and I are in the Elks and our Lodge has a camper club that visits local campgrounds once a month, so I'm sure that our trailer won't be sitting for too long!

We'll be towing it with my 2003 F-250 diesel and I plan to install an Equal-i-zer hitch. Great to be here and I look foward to sharing lots of pictures and stories from the road. Thanks for having us!

Thank you! We're going stir crazy waiting for our trailer to arrive, and we still have over a month to go! We're already stocking up the "necessities" like kitchen supplies, maxxair vent covers, outdoor mats . . . really looking forward to getting out there. The great discussion now is where should we go on our first trip? Nice problem to have. :hihi:

My truck has an old Tekonsha Sentinel brake controller that I'm planning to retire and replace with a new Tekonsha P3. If anyone has done such a swap, is it really as easy as it looks? I believe it's just a matter of unplugging the old one from under the dash and plugging the P3 in it's place. I do plan to get the Tekonsha vehicle-specific cable with the new P3.
