Hello from Canada ...Ehh!

It would be safe to assume that since I am posting in this part of the site that I have bought a FW for the first time (2011 Eagle 27.5 bhs fw). After reading many of the interesting posts on this site, your stories helped me (and my wife) choose a Jayco . I am not a true newbie to trailers as I still farm full time and we run several p/u from 1/2 t. to 1t.dually, using both bumper and GN hitches. This said I have read every post on pulling FW and still have things to learn. We are 20 min. from Vermont and 30 min. from New York state lines. Our plan is to have a mobile cottage to enjoy the many lakes and parks in these states ( and Quebec as well!) with the grandkids. Keep writing these great posts , and I will be be happy to read them.

Congratulations on the Jayco Eagle and welcome to the JOF.

I grew up in MI and spent many summers in Ontario as a kid: 'Friendly, familiar, foreign, and near' was an ad I heard many times.

Have spent part of my youth growing up in St.Clair Shores,Mi. I seem to have a foot in both countries, and see the good of our two great countries.

Welcome to Jayco. We are greatly looking forward to traveling Up North when retirement allows longer trips.

Out of curiosity, what is payload and rear axle capacity of truck and pin weight of trailer? Those are the important numbers. The truck numbers are on yellow sticker inside drivers door.
Happy Camping

We live not far from you in New York State's Adirondack Park. Here are some our favorite state campgrounds: Buck Pond, AuSable Point, Higley Flow, and Rollins Pond - all beautiful locations and inexpensive. Bienvenue!

Hi...the 2012 F150 has a 7350#gvwr, rear axel 3850# cap. , payload 2200# cap., truck weight as per ford 5980#(driver & gas incl.) Trailer per Jayco 7800#( no fluids or stuff) can't give actual weights, still in yard...not yet had chance to do scale weigh in.... however previous owner had a 2010 Tundra with a 6 ft. box and did some trips in hilly areas !! I will always travel dry and do less than 500 km. from home base( the long trips will be for the next rig & truck)( p.s. tow cap. 9300#)
