Hello from some newbies!

My name is Mark and my wife Debbie and I just bought the 2014 264BH. Did some research and when I saw the price I just could not pass on this. We are so excited to tart our journey and could use any help or advice anyone would like to provide.

It is just her and I and 2 little 4 legged boys so this is plenty of trailer for us. I was somewhat hesitant simply because of what we will be towing this with but I think we will be fine. Purchased it today and will be picking it up Thursday afternoon. SO excited to start making some fun memories with the family.

If anyone has any advice about this model or anything you would like to throw out please do so! Very blessed to have found this site.

Mark (Oklahoma City)

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the new Jayco. What is your tow vehicle? We just bought a travel trailer ourselves, so I can only recommend that you go slow when towing and don't over load. Have fun!

We have a newer Toyota 4 Runner, V8. We bought (came with) a new weight equalizer and sway hitch system. I think we will be ok. Super excited about the purchase.

Welcome to the forum ... yes it would help to know what it is your towing with .. I am not familiar with the weight or tongue weight of that particular trailer but that would help too

well it looks like dry weight of the trailer is 4355lbs / 485lbs at the hitch dry. Toyota forerunner with v8 has max tow capacity with wdh is 7000lbs while the payload on the forerunner is 1235 lbs ... I would say if you keep the payload in the tv reasonable and don't put more than the suggested payload of 2145 in the trailer you should be great

Congrats. Do some research on the GVWR of your tow vehicle. This info is typically on a door sticker. Look for the max payload, or subtract the curb weight from the GVWR of the tow vehicle to get to payload.

Payload is the maximum of the trailer tongue weight, passangers and all gear in the tow vehicle.
Be safe - take it easy the first few outings - have a great time

Welcome from Coloardo

Congrats on the trailer! Welcome to the forum.

Make sure you do a very through PDI and I suggest taping it so that you can look back at items that you may not remember.

Enjoy.
