Hello From South Texas

Hello all...been roaming the forums for about 6 months now and joined a week or so ago finally. Used the forum for our research for buying a TT as well as reading about TV, weights, etc. It's been a wealth of knowledge to this point and look forward to using the site even more over the coming years.

We purchased a 2015 Jayco White Hawk 25BHS a couple weeks ago...well, we ordered one since there were none in our area (San Antonio). It's been two weeks since we ordered and the dealer said it should be here in about 6 weeks.

Our TV is a 2011 Ram 1500 Laramie (5.7 Hemi, 3.92, tow package with brake controller). We've towed rentals with it (24 footers, 6,000lbs loaded) without a WDH and sway control and didn't have problems (was within the tow and payload ratings) so feel confident the 25BHS will be good. We did pick up a Reese WDH with sway control for the TT though. No reason not too and it'll be safer.

Only question I have right now is do I post in the Jayco Travel Trailer area or the Jayco Lite/Ultra Lite Travel Trailer area?

Thanks again for reading and look forward to being a member here!

Welcome to the Forum! What are your Winters like in SA? DW and I have been thinking of spending some Winter months around there.

By the way, I think you can post to either location.

Winter has been decent the last few years but it can get below freezing and typically does a few times. The hill country is a tad colder in the winter but south of San Antonio stays above freezing most years.

Was cold this winter! Several days below freezing and we are a little northeast of San Antonio (about 35 miles or so). So far summer has been nice, no 100 degree days yet...first time since 2007!

We live just South of you, and DW and I were just talking today about what a wonderful summer this has been! She's VERY pregnant, so every day below 100 is a good day for us! I felt the wind out of the North today, and thought to myself, wouldn't that be outstanding if that was it for summer! LOL!

Yesterday was beautiful! No humidity at all and a slight north wind....perfect! Today some of the humidity is back but liking this summer very much!
