Welcome to the site!!!! I also forest fires in PEI back in the summer of 61 when I was posted in Gagetown. We stayed at the airbase in Summerside and the airforce put up the best grub we had ever ate in the army. I have never made it back to PEI and really regret it, but maybe some day.

I was in the army for 13 years and just after we got back to Gagetown from PEI I went on annual leave to Ontario and that is when the East Germans decided to build the wall and by September I was on my way to Germany. I went back to Gagetown once for a summer of maneuvers, but other than that I spent most of my military time in Western Canada.

Why does this response to a question not get connected to the post that asked the question? Am I missing something here?
