Hello, New here, but NOT to camping!!!!

Hi everyone,
I am new to this forum, but definitley not to camping!!! I was born in January, and my parents had me camping in April... and for those of you old enough, in a Cox Camper....
so, basically been camping ALL my life.

My wife on the other hand.... has been camping most of here life too, BUT, different styles... her family had a travel trailer (w/ a/c) on a permanent site... My family hit different campgrounds, in a popup, so she is making adjustments to say the least...

This is my second Jayco Popup, first was a Jay flight 1981 8ft box basic camper... this one is a 1998 Jayco Eagle 12 UDK, very nice upgrade, no bath room or a/c, hence why wife is making adjustment...

We are looking to upgrade to a travel trailer in the near future... but, until then, the popup it is!!!!

Look forward to interacting with everyone...

Welcome to the forum... I'm probably old enough to know the COX CAMPER but I don't recall one... This photo from googl imags is of a 1967 year model.

We was avid tent campers until just five years ago when we got the OFF-ROAD POPUP. Still go tent camping on ocassions...

Funny how campers 'breed' campers! I started off in an old starcraft pop-up when I was small enough to bathe in a plastic-tub on the picnic table! My three kids have been camping like you, months after birth - Many thought we were crazy, camping with infants, but we loved every minute of it..and as teenagers the kids still want to be 'out-there' with us!

My daughter was a little older (2 years old), when we bought our '82 Coleman PUP.

Then when my son was born a couple of years later, we took him camping when he was a couple of months old.

As years went by, the PUP got used less because of other things taking up camping time, mostly organized sports. There was a couple of times I said I was going to sell it because of it not being used. But the family gave me a big "NO" each time.

This past July, we got our first Jayco hybrid TT and I passed the Coleman on to my son.

Our daughter was also born in January, and we took her camping that spring. I built an overhead bunk inside our Shasta, complete with a barrier made from an old crib side to keep her from rolling out. She camped with us until getting married, and then started tent camping with her hubby. Still does it from time to time with 2 kids, and hopes to move up someday to a pop-up.

Yes, McMonk, campers do "breed" campers !
