Hello To Everyone ! About to pick up our first TT

Hello All,

Thanks to everyone for all the information on this forum! I've managed to find an answer here already to almost every question I could think of.

We ( Myself, Wife and 6 year old daughter ) will be picking up our first TT this week, a 2012 Jay Flight 264bh. We can't wait to really check it out in the driveway and are hoping spring will arrive soon !

Towing with: 2012 Nissan Titan CC W/Tow package.

Welcome to the forum veryconfusing and congrats on your 2012 Jay Flight 264bh.
Camp Driveway is a great place to get aquainted with your new camper. You might want to run the furnace for a while to get the 'newness' smell burnt out of it. And yes, Spring will come, it's just a matter of when .

Enjoy the TT, and welcome. I found it all very confusing as well. Over time, and with the help found here, I just relaxed and it is all good. Every little 'bump' teaches me something new.

cheers, Dave.

Talking

Welcome 'VeryConfusing' and family!

I was (and still am) a bit overwhelmed with all this "need to know" info regarding TT camping and have been very grateful for all the experience on this forum. I've already learned alot & hope to encounter wonderful people like them in the CG.

Come on Spring! And enjoy many weekends in that beautiful new camper!

Thanks Everybody ! It's good to know there is a community of such good people out here.

Great tip on the heater - didn't even think about burning the new toaster smell out of it. :drooling:

I'll post some pics from camp driveway once we pick this thing up !

:hihi:

I see you are in Dallas - make sure you know how to properly winterize everything. Fixing busted stuff is not fun in an RV!

Picked it up today - Woohoo! Thanks for the tips

Picked our new TT up today ! Woohoo !

Special Thanks for the tips on breaking in the heater - WOW - it really stunk up the place for about 20-30 minutes !!! ( We fired everything up during the walkthrough )

Can't wait to get it set up in camp driveway tomorrow and check it all out.

My 5 1/2 daughter camped out in the bunk beds declaring those "her room" for the duration of the walkthrough. Glad to have that approval !

Things I walked away with as extra purchases on day one as a note to prospective buyers:

1. Quick release Locking pin for hitch 9 (6-)
2. A quality sewer hose - ( Rhino, 45- )
3. Mud Dauber screen cover for furnace ( 17- )
4. Brass water heater drain valve w\pet**** (8-)
5. Craftco Big Wheel chocks ( 20- )

Big stuff:

Equalizer 4 point sway control, New brake controller, new ball and tongue, etc . . . towing related. (800- )

Congrats! Sounds like fun.

Hopefully your dealer gave you a parts / accessory catalog. While you are sitting in the trailer driveway camping go through the catalog and it will help you figure out what to buy next.

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your new toy.

We just parked our new TT next to the house and making all those little changes before spring. Sometimes I think the manufacturer forget things and quickly add before they ship. Like brass hooks to hold doors open, Putting TP holder in a practical area, wife modifying bed spread so it is easier to remove and replace. (19RD bed is in a corner), added a bracket and TV. My wife bought a bunch of those net bags from Walmart for clothes storage. They work out quite well.
