Hi new to the x213!

Hi!

Well this is our family's first travle trailer. We have had a jayco pop up for the past 5 years but sadly it developed floor issues and is no longer with us. We loved the trailer but as my 2 kids are now 5 and 8 we are finding that the need some sleeping space of their own.

So we ditched the van and as of Friday will be the proud new owners of a Grand Cherokee Trailhalk addition.

We have also decided to take the grand and epic cross canada adventure during the kids 9 weeks summer holliday. Dog included. Not sure if we are nuts or if this will be a wonderful experience. Hoping for the latter!!!

The x213 (https://www.jayco.com/products/travel-trailers/2017-jay-feather/x213/) is our fist choice of TT. We are hoping to purchase it in the next week or so. We will be adding a good sway control system.

I would love to hear about anyone else's experiences with the same set up. How it pulled, managed the Rockies, and things to avoid or remember as we start to get it set up to go.

Thank you all for your help!

Welcome!

What are the towing specs of your new Trailhawk? Specifically, payload?

Sergeum, I have the same TV as you and just purchased a 2017 X213 with a TW of 450#. I am curious, what WDH do you use?

I would put the actual TW closer to 500# once loaded with propane etc.
just looking to buy the right WDH and not overkill.

thanks

With 2 Propane tanks and a battery you'll be about 525# this does not enclude what is packed for the trip in the front half of the TT. You should go to the scales way before your trip.
My WDH was readjusted after the TT was loaded.

So with a 600# WD hitch i should be covered? I used to have a WD hitch that came with our old trailer that was rated for 900# and tongue wt was 630# so the thing added unnecessary weight to the TV -

thanks
