Hi there!

New to the forum, but not to trailer camping - our new 2017 Eagle HT 29.5BHDS is our 4th trailer, and our second Jayco.

We started 15yrs back with a Rockwood pop up, then moved into an extending bed-end TT (jay feather 29A), then made a tragic mistake: we bought a Keystone Sprinter 311 BHS (that trailer was -nothing- but problems from delivery day until the day she left), and now here we are with our first 5th wheel.

As the trailer's gotten bigger, so too has the TV. We now haul our "half-ton capable" 5'er with a '16 Sierra 2500HD Duramax, fitted with the B&W Companion hitch... (side rant: how these mfrs are allowed to get away with saying these trailers are "half ton capable" blows my mind. I called GM specifically to find out the payload capabilities on the VIN of my truck, and according to all of the options it left the factory with: 2095lbs... with hitch and trailer, I'm getting close to my limits!)

We camp all around beautiful Ontario, but will be headed to NY next weekend for a few days, and hope to travel wider afield in time.

Hoping to start learning how to add solar to my rig - we're "solar ready", but I'm not! I don't have the first clue where to start, so hoping to pick up some tips/ideas from a few of the more seasoned boondockers here...

Thanks for reading this far - my coffee's empty, and my thumbs hurt from stabbing the above on an iPad screen, so time to sign-off for now.

Cheers!

(edited to add picture… shot was taken whilst filling the water tanks last Thursday, before we headed out too the Havelock Country Music Jamboree this past weekend. Still s-l-o-w-l-y trying to recover from too much of a good time!)
