Hi to all, we r Upgrading

We are looking to upgrade to a 5er. The owner's forum seemed like a great place to start the research. The pros and cons from each brand as well as the owners 1st hand experience with the trailer.
Cheers,
Ed

Sounds like there's an RV Show in your future and you'll need 2 days at least to go over, under, around and through each unit.
Enjoy your New Years present.

Thanks to all, we went to Hershey this past fall to look a 5th wheel and that was overwhelming. We did see a few floor plans we really like but may have missed the north point 375bhfs. The ceo(DW) loves that floor plan.
She liked the Montana HC 358bh/362rd and sandpiper 381rbok as well.
Thanks to Jnamadison from this forum, who suggested the open range 3x 427bhs. The OR 427 is almost identical to the North point.
So more shows are in our future,as well as dealer visits.
So far, the rankings are a tie north point and open range.
The Monty then the sandpiper.

I will need a new truck and a drw isn't an option.
Thinking of a 2017 ram 3500 diesel crew cab long bed 4x4..
Lots to debate and pay for.
Thanks
Ed

Welcome to the forum and happy trailer shopping.

Not every 1-ton, single rear wheel diesel will be able to handle all the 5er trailers that you might consider. Since a new, non-drw truck is in your future, it would be a good idea to begin there: Get the information on the PAYLOAD of the trucks equipped the way you want, calculate the weight of what you will be carrying in the passenger area and bed of the truck, and then determine the LOADED PIN WEIGHT of the 5ers that appeal to you.

There are members of this forum that are better versed in these areas, so don't hesitate to ask for more details.

Full timing: Some will think you're crazy, some will be envious, just enjoy the freedom!

I'm looking at that for sure. I'm know the dry pin weight is ok but if anyone has a pin weight of a similar rig that's camping ready that would be great.

Cheers,
Ed

I sold my Whitehawk so I am also in the market for a 5er upgrade. So far we have been most impressed with the Pinnacle 36FBTS, KPTS, Northpoint 315RLTS from Jayco. Right up there at the top of our list is the Vilano 365RL by VanLeigh RV. We are planning to hit the RV shows and probably pull the trigger this summer. BTW there is a fantastic show in Tampa next week.
