Howdy, from Idaho Falls

Hello, Jayco Owner's community. My wife finally talked me into purchasing our first travel trailer (I wanted a drift boat): a used, 2013 Jayco Jayflight 25BHS. I am looking forward to using it for many family camping, fishing, and hunting trips here in Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, and Colorado.

I am also learning quite a bit as I go, and I look forward to the new projects which having this trailer will present. This looks like a great place to help me learn the ropes.

Thank you; I have to agree. We moved here 3 years ago after my wife and I decided to move our kids out of Southern California. The winters are a bit long, but other than that, we love it.

I see that you own a Tundra as well. Being that I am learning all of this the hard way, I was shocked to see how limited I am by my payload capacity. According to my sub-model, I am limited to 1,375 pounds. After figuring 450 lbs of my family and I, 840 lbs of my trailer's dry hitch weight and my new 50 lb equalizer hitch, I'm only left with 35 lbs!!! So that's either 35 lbs of cargo in the bed, or 260 lbs (35 lbs/0.13) of cargo in the trailer. I better pack light!

Last, but not least: I sincerely thank you for your service to our country.

Southeast Idaho

Southeast Idaho is a good place to raise your family. I moved here for the same reason over 25 years ago and have turned down offers to move back. Now that the kids are grown, this place is still home.i

You should have a yellow tag on the drivers door post which will show your actual cargo capacity. Mine is 1528. We really like our Tundra, best truck I've ever owned. No issue towing our 27RLS all over the west, including Idaho!

Will be at Bear Lake work kamping this summer, looking forward to really enjoy the area.
