intro from TX
an introduction, of sorts... i like to say hello when i walk in a door....
greetings from Texas and family squidmo... we do a lot of surfing, camping, and fishing along the coast here... we just purchased a new to us 2009 jayco 19H hybrid for what i think was a simple song and dance routine...
here are a few photos of life with my crew, just grabbed a few as i typed....... we do a lot of fishing out of POC (port o'connor) and i still take the family back home to Pensacola a few times a year... with a 5yr old, we decided to upgrade from the old 1006 (1987 vintage)... we still have it... it serves as our fish camp trailer down in seadrift...
i have a lot of good memories of life with that lil' pop-up, but we were looking for something a little larger this time (well mrs. squidmo was). granted, i did compromise...... it isn't camping unless yer sleepin' under canvas!
my only dilemma is that i can't tow my flats boat at the same time i take the new camper... hopefully i can get some kind of co-op deal figured out with everyone... or build some kind of canoe or something. luckily, bikes, boards, and geetars are all good to go...
towing duties are accomplished with a 2007 toyota tundra gigantor model... it pretty much lives with a trailer behind it, as we don't drive it into town (houston) too much....
i'll post plenty of photos, believe me... and i have an entire host of upgrades that i plan to get working in short order, thanks to ideas from you wonderful folks. i have a steady job, but pop and i have a shop we do work out of (he does cabinetry, and custom furniture work) ... i'll try to document anything we do to this thing... i can't leave anything alone...
i have a few questions that i will post in the proper spots, and/or also do searches, as i hate to bore with same old questions...
anyway, glad to have a new jayco..... i'll post photos when we get it home.

Welcome to Jayco Owners Forum from the West Texas desert. We have a place to fish here also....trouble is, it is about 110 miles to get there. Enjoy your Jayco.

You must visit Big Bend National Park and Davis Mountains State Park in far west Texas.
It's a whole other world....

Welcome to the forum, squid. There is a special place in my heart for boats too (have two of `em), as well as campers! Nice pics.

by the way, and i bet this question has had a lot of folks scratching their heads over the last few years... but what the @#$%@ are those handles above the tailights?
all i can figure, is maybe they use these on popups? and they can be moved around? or that they have a light or something in there for other models??? maybe so a really long armed guy can hitch a ride? tie off your bikes that you put on the back, 'cause you know they are gonna come off? tie the dog off, clark griswold style?
i'm at a loss... just like that velcro strap on a fishing shirt. WTH are those things???
anyway, we spent a night in it already, and are pretty happy at the decision to move up from old reliable.
