Its time
Hello Jayco owners,
my name is Brian, and after a few weeks of lurkin on the forum I figured it was time to be a member. I just purchased my first travel trailer in december of 2010 now just so u guys know I call it a camper cause I have never owned one of those either. Its a 2009 JayFlight 26bh the camper was used a total of two times before I bought it. Now for a little background on me im 28 years old just got married in 2010 and my inlaws own a nice size lake that the tt will be parked at. I do plan on making some nice vacation trips with the tt but at this point felt that it was cheaper to purchase this then to build a cabin out on the lake it self. The only down fall to this is i have no power supply so im now on the hunt for a nice quality genterator that is at least decent on dbs. So for u season vets let me know what u use and what u have luck with.

Welcome FastFiveO.
I've bought a few generators, and returned them all until I bought the Honda. The 3KW version (if you need AC, 2KW if you aren't) is great and has a econo mode that revs the generator down to make it as quiet as possible.
Jim
PS Add some details to your profile so people get a feel for your TT, TV, family, location, that kind of stuff.

Go Solar... its quiet and dont cost fuel every month.. my payback on my system was just over 2 years... I have 4-125 watt panels, a blue sky charge controller, Magnum inverter and 6-6 volt batteries.... and best of all when I run my system NO NOISE...

Welcome FastFiveO,
I have a 26BH too, a 2011 model. I've been traveling around and living it in since the middle of November, and so far no problems. This is my first TT too, and there's been quite a learning curve figuring things out.
About the generator, like Jim said, the Honda eu3000i generators have a good reputation, as do the small inverter Yamaha generators. I haven't gotten one yet, but have done quite a bit of research.
I'll probably get one of the eu2000i generators to start with, and if that's not enough, that model allows you to piggyback to a second generator for double the output. And I believe you can get 2 of the 2000 watt generators for about the same price as one 3000 watt generator, so you'd get more bang for the buck.
Enjoy the new toy!
