Jay Feather 25BH sounds like Moby Dick!

Hello Folks, my name is Helen. My husband, Russell, and I took the plunge about a month ago and bought a 2017 Jay Feather 25BH. We absolutely have loved our decision to buy it. We want to build many memories in it with our granddaughters. I am so thankful for this board. Before we even took our camper out, we were able to glean a wealth of information. My only complaint about our new camper is that it sounds like Moby Dick when you first get going down the road. The noise seems to be coming from the rear of the camper, so we know it's not the sway bar. Any suggestions on why it sounds like this?

Welcome from NYS!. I'm not sure what Moby sounds like, but the noise may be the brakes dragging slightly. Being new, a trip to the dealer for a warranty check may be in order.

LOL I am probably the first person to describe their trailer sounding like a whale under water! But that's the only way I can describe the sound -- it moans -- and it only does it when we are first starting out. Thanks for the advice. We sure will have it looked at.

Don

Sorry, I had to read the book Moby Dick in HS, the books back then did not have speakers on them... so I will just go by what I sound like getting up in the morning...you are positive that it is not metal rubbing on metal of the sway bars... did you grease the ball? Check the frame welds in the back.. If it is not to much of a problem, take the TT to large parking lot (real large) you drive and see if your hubby can keep up with you (maybe use a bike) while listening to where the noise is coming from.. just a few thoughts... good luck by the way.. ours does the same thing for the first 1//4 mile, I think it is the surface rust under the sway bars that causes ours.

Mine will sound like that if I don't grease the ball on a regular bases. I would dbl check that 1st. Yes I did see the movie when it first came out.
