Just switched to Jayco - The Jury is out

Hi, Brand new here and a brand new owner of a Jayco Octane T32C (2016 model). I just downsized from a Gearbox 5th Wheel. I picked up the new trailer last Wednesday and took it camping from Thurs-Sun. The entire experience so far has been a total nightmare. It is currently at the dealer and they have promised to make things right. Time will tell. I gave them a list of approx. 30 items that needed repair: Some minor and some major including 2 major water leaks inside the coach (1 from back of toilet the first time I turned pump on, second came from black water flush as soon as I hooked it up. So they have to pull the whole trailer apart and make sure it is all dry and up to par. Not really impressed with Jayco quality control so far. Anyway, hopefully they get all my issues resolved so I can finally enjoy my new purchase. I really love the layout of this trailer and can't wait to really put it to good use on my upcoming elk/moose hunt. So that is my story so far, I look forward to getting to know all of you on here.

Thirty items seems like a lot of things to overlook during the PDI. Did the dealer give you an opportunity to give everything a once over before you took delivery?

Agreed, seems like most of this should have been caught in a good PDI. Polar opposite of my experience buying a new 2016 Eagle. I found an issue or two one the first trip out, but nothing major, just small annoyances easy to fix on my own.

My PDI did catch that the furnace wasn't working and it was replaced before I took delivery. But that's what the PDI is for in this industry.

Sorry to hear about your problems. We've owned 2 Jayco's and now a 2017 Starcraft and in over 20 years of use never had a major problem that wasn't my own fault. Hopefully your dealer gets it right for you quickly, but I have to agree that it sounds like your PDI wasn't very thorough. For mine this year the dealer filled the water tank, turned on the water heater and pump and after we ran water through all the faucets we also flushed the toilet several times. Good luck and have some fun soon.

You purchased an excellent RV made by Jayco Inc., but you need a new dealer.
Don't go back to them but choose someone else for warranty items.

Welcome!
