Looking into Precept 29'

Hello,
I am new to Jayco. Right now we have a 23IKSS Shamrock travel trailer. It is getting a little difficult for my DH to hook up. I do the all the driving and will try to learn the hookup. In the meantime I have been looking at this Precept.

We camped 3 times in Alaska and I drove a class C, only 24'. It wasn't difficult but am concerned about the 29' and a class A. We would probably look into towing a small vehicle as some point.

Is there anyone out there that owns this unit? Right now we can't quite afford the $90,000 so may wait for a used unit. Did they make this model prior to 2016? I just love the layout of the 2016 and dinette arrangement.

The bunkbeds will allow our grandchildren to sleep comfortably and for me to travel with friends. I love photographing wildlife and have a couple of friends who would love to travel like this.

Hi Bonnie. Just to clarify the shortest Precept is 32' 4" but what's 3' among friends, right? Let me invite you to join our Precept Owners Group. Find ''community" in the header bar above, click it, click "Social Groups", locate the social groups on the right and then click the Precept Owners Group.
Join us and begin reading the 150+ threads with 70+ owners contributing. You will find a wealth of info and you can post a new thread with your inquiry.
Good luck with your search,

Darrell and Mary,

I was looking at a 2016 29' UR Precept at Camping World in Oakwood, Georgia. Maybe it is new for 2016 since I can't find a used one.

Bonnie, the numbers manufacturers assign to their products do not always match the length. I don't have any idea why. My 31 UL is 32" 3" (I was in error with my earlier number). It is my understanding the 29 UR is built on the same chassis as the 31 UL but the website does not have the weights and measures for the 29 UR.

Either way, join us on the Precept Owners Group and some 29 UR owners can give you the details.

Bonnie.... First welcome to our group. Like Darrell has said, there's lots of information now available through us Precept owners.

As far as comparing driving the shorter Precept to your prior 24' class C, you shouldn't have any trouble adapting to it. My DW was shocked how easy it was for her to drive it and maneuver around.
