Looks like a bunch of newbies, us included

Joined this forum to get some insight on all things Jayco.

Long story short - this forum and others have been a great help, started looking seriously a few weeks ago, looked around at some local dealers and then took a trip down to Orlando, it was very successfull and we are now proud owners of a.................Jayco Jay Feather Ultra Lite X23J (well in 8 weeks when it arrives). Wife and I spent the better part of the day going back/forth over the third bed (X23F) vs. the extra roomy interior/counter space/bigger table/storage space. We figured as the kids grow they could go into the tents outside. Really wanted to wait and take the figures back to local dealers, but I do not believe their price could be beat by the one local Jayco dealer.

As far as Jayco vs Rockwood. That was very hard as well, much back and forth. Wife liked the Jayco for some reason, I liked the Rockwood. Things that probably sold us were, diamond front, bed seals on the door protected from the elements under the canvas, lower stance (we we never leave pavement), two year warranty. I really struggled with the lack of ducts and no shower bubble (I'm 6'4" so showers will be at the campground facilities).

We got the following options, 15k AC upgrade, 6 gallon gas/electric water heater, oven, 6 cft double door refrigerator, suspension lift kit, outside grill, copper interior decor.

They also "threw in" the Reese WD kit.

Love this forum and now reading for more ideas and knowledge.

Can't wait to go camping in January on a Florida beach!

Nole trainer - welcome! I'm a newbie too. I've had my Jayco 19H (little brother to your X23J) for 2 years. Family and I have had a GREAT time. Dealing with Jayco (at least our dealer) has been very positive. Good luck with yours.

Good to hear, thanks. Still waiting on mine, almost 3.5 weeks down, 2-4 to go!

Welcome and congrats on your new TT. I'm also a newbie. Picked up my Jayco 19RD about a week ago. I hadn't been traveling for over 10 years and sure missed it.

Although a little late...
Welcome to the Jayco Owners Forum Noletrainer! Our first "rv" was a Rockwood. We had very few problems with that tent trailer. It took us and our middle school aged kids to 42 states over two summers! I'm even happier with my Jayco tt! Let us know how the maiden voyage goes in January

Still waiting, was thinking maybe early Cristmas present, not. Now it looks like I will be very busy with work in January, so maybe a Valentines trip is order. Hope to hear soon that my TT is on the way to dealer

42 state in two summers, love it!

Do you have yours yet, if so, how long did it take to get?

The dealer told us they were bringing in a 23B and we were interested in it but we told the salesperson that our ideal would be the 23J so they brought one in on specs so we went down and compared the two and although it was a tough decision the two big windows in the J looking out over the awning area made the decision for us so we negotiated and bought it and they will store it for us till we are ready for it. So to answer your question we did not have to wait. but it did take about 6 six weeks to come to the dealership from the time we told them we were interested in it.
