new 2013 x17z camper

We are going tommorw may 29 to pick up our new x17z camper at HolidayHour RV in DeKalb IL which is about 90 miles from our house in Hammond IN . Our first other camper that we have is a 1991 Starcraft Starflyer popup. Im excited about getting it but also nerveous about towing it also, since i never had to pull anything larger then a popup. Our truck that i will be using is a 2002 Ford Ranger 4.0 v6 which has a tow package when i bought it new. Has a 3.55 rear end with limited slip, trans cooler with a towing weight of 5860 lbs.

Thats just like towing a POPUP with hard sides... All you will lose is gas mileage haha...

My 4200LB OFF-ROAD POPUP probably weighs more than the 17Z haha...

I like the smaller trailers - easy on gas - can get into almost anywhere with one - makes us spend more time outside the trailer eating and sitting around the camp fire...

just my thoughts

I think your Ranger will do fine. With the X17Z empty weight of 2800 and gross of 3500 the Ranger has a comfortable margin. Sounds like a good pair.
