New Couple From AZ

Hello everyone, My wife and I just picked up our very first travel trailer last weekend, a 2014 Jayflight Swift SLX 185RB BAJA edition. We are long time tent campers and backpackers, this is all new to us, but are looking forward to it! We shopped quite a few dealers in the desert southwest and settled on Johnnie Walker RV in Las Vegas, what a fantastic buying experience it was! Made the 290 mile drive home with no issues, all went perfect. We will be looking to make a few modifications, LED lighting, maybe LED awning Lighting, Wall mount flat screen TV, etc...

Welcome to the JOF. I think you will really enjoy camping in a travel trailer rather than in a tent.

Welcome to JOF!

I also came from a backpacking background. While there are some things I will definitely miss about backpacking, I look at RVing as a whole new adventure! And I still keep my backpacking gear in good shape just in case a trail comes calling...

Thank you for all the welcome wishes, I will try to upload some pictures. We will remain backpackers for life, but are looking forward to using the trailer before and after our adventure while still out in the backountry. We will be dry camping 80% of the time with it. Cant wait to get out there!
thanks

I just looked up your trailer.. nice! That floorplan has a nice amount of counter space for the size of the trailer. We spent the summer backpacking Europe with ultralight gear and tents.. but it is still nice to have the trailer option. We have a large trailer, but we are thinking of picking up a small one too.. for certain trips.
