New from PA

And a welcome from down the road a bit in Lancaster. Lots to learn and share here, glad you're here.

Meanwhile, we're looking forward to our first outing of the year, now about 6 weeks away. Can't wait!

Roger

Congrats and welcome from NY! I'm actually just sitting here researching PA campgrounds for 3rd week of April. My wife and I are going to a concert at Mohegan Sun and taking the TT, and were going to spend some time down that way. Most likely "casino camp" for the night, and then maybe head to the Lancaster area for a few days after that. It's our 30th wedding anniversary also that werk, so don't want to rush home if we don't have to!

Hey, congrats on the impending anniversary. DW and I will be hitting #45 on April 7! But we're heading a little south right after church on Easter Sunday, heading for Chesapeake Bay RV for the week, not far from Williamsburg.

Any idea where you might stay near Lancaster? We've sure got plenty of good campgrounds here!

Roger

Congtats on 45!!! Chesapeake Bay was my first choice, but seemed a bit far at 350 miles from Wilkes Barre; not sure yet how long we can be away for. Was thinking Country Acres in Lancaster; seems to have good reviews. Any recommendations in the Chesapeake Bay area? Can PM me if you wish.

Thanks! We're going to the Thousand Trails campground, Chesapeake Bay RV Resort, about 45 miles from Williamsburg. Stayed there in 2014, loved it. Sorry, don't have any other recommendations.

Actually, almost every campground we've visited is Thousand Trails - might have something to do with our membership plan.

Around Lancaster we've been to Circle M (generally OK, not great), PA Dutch (again OK), and Hershey (pretty good but a little rustic). Visited with friends when they stayed at Spring Gulch - that's very nice.

Roger

Our first trip every year is Lancaster on Memorial Day. We use to go to Old Mill Stream with 10 to 12 families. The group broke up & the campground changed a lot since Hershey took them over. For the last 4 years we camp at Mill Bridge Village. It's a smaller campground but not far from everything.
