Smile New Jay Flight 26BH

Howdy,

Just wanted to drop a thread and introduce ourselves to the forum. I spent weeks reading through everyone's posts to learn as much as I could about the Jayco lineup. I just picked up a brand new 2017 Jayco Jay Flight 26BH yesterday. We were initially interested in the Jayco Jay Flight SLX 264BHW, but after deliberation we settled on the 26BH. For me it was mostly the functionality enhancements (second FWT, power in both bunks for the kids, etc.) for the DW (I think this means "Dear Wife") it was the "nicer looking interior". I had to drive over 300 miles round trip to get the best deal from Vogt RV in Fort Worth, Texas. Seriously if you are in the market for a Jayco and live anywhere near Fort Worth you should check them out and ask for Anthony. The buying experience was surprisingly pleasant. Since it seems to be customary to describe your rig I'll do that below.

2017 Jayco Jay Flight 26BH
Customer Value Package
15K BTU A/C Upgrade
Elite Package
29" TV (wish they included a 12V model)
Bumper Mount Grill (May never use because I already own a Weber Q)

My 2011 Toyota Tundra Double Cab pulled it like a dream. Especially with the Equal-i-zer hitch that was highly recommended. I honestly was on the fence about spending that much money for a hitch, but after the ride home yesterday I'm glad I did. We have already taken advantage of the Thousand Trails complimentary membership and will be camping at Colorado River RV Campground in Columbus, TX.

It's going to be a great year!!

Congrats on your new trailer. We used to own an 2013 26 BH and loved it. However we upgraded to a 28BHBE. The wife wanted a larger bathroom. We did love the quaintness of the 26BH and the layout. Happy Camping.

Thank you all for the warm welcome. We just got back from our maiden voyage. We had a blast and the kids are stoked to do it all over again. Moving from a hybrid camper to the 26BH is night and day for us. Setup and teardown are now a breeze. We no longer have to worry about canvases, setting up bunkends, missing metal braces, etc. The family and I agree we made the right decision. Now time for some mods.

Here are some of the mods I've done to our 2016 26BH so far:

Added 28" Samsung smart tv with dual wall mount so I can put tv in kitchenette or bedroom.

Added the Atwood stove cover.

Added a door in center over queen bunk.

Added screen over heater vent.

Added the digital thermostat.

Added paper towel holder over sink window.

Added shelves in cabinets over sink and dinette.

Added Furrion hi-speed wireless observation camera.

Added the Camco door bar.

Added a bunk ladder.

Good luck and happy modding!!!
