New Jayco Greyhawk 29 MV Owners

Hello All,
We are new 2015 Jayco Greghawk 29MV owners as of June 2014. Since then, the MH has added 6,700 + miles to the clock while towing an Aluma UT10 trailer with a 2012 Can Am RT-S on board. Selection of the 29 MV was based on the efficient layout, overall quality and towing capacity (5,000 lbs).

So far, we have replaced the poor mattress, lowered the J-sofa 4" for added seating comfort, added a roll out shelf for trash can and added a pull out rack in place of the three shelf cabinet. We had a locking knob added to the four drawer moveable drawer stack since the existing latch failed to keep the drawer stack in place while cornering even at low speeds.

I have a Blue Ox Track Bar (TT2450) on order and will install before the new season to help tame the steering corrections in heavy winds.

It took a while (3 road trips) to get use to the "On-Demand" water heater, but like it now. Can't wait to start the new season with several long trips planned including taking our grandsons (4 and 6) to Disney land. Where can you can buy "5-Hour" energy drinks by the gallon?.. ...lol

Howdy. We are in process of buying a Greyhawk 29MV. Nice to read your post.

We hauled our 2008 Lehman trike on a Kendon 3-rail M/C trailer behind a class A motor home last year. Hoping the 29MV tows the trailer as effortlessly as our last rig. We really enjoyed the set up...

What were your issues with the on-demand hot water supply? Any other issues we should be aware of?

Thanks...

Hello,
Adjusting the temperature for a comfortable shower is the main issue with the "On-Demand" water heater. It is somewhat counterintuitive. Adjusting the water flow rate at the shower effects the temperature (less flow = hotter water) and as well as adding cold water at the mixing valve. We finally adjusted the temperature (at the wall control) to the what worked best with the shower valve wide open on hot and added minimal cold water if too hot.
Also, camp water supply temperature affects where the wall control setting needs to be. Imagine a copper pipe with water flowing through it and a flame directly beneath the pipe. The "flame" height is controlled by the wall control. The "water flow" is controlled by camp water source pressure and the shower mixing valve. You can see their are four things or variables to adjust or compensate for for a comfortable shower temperature including incoming camp water temperature.
As far as camp source pressure, I found more overall temperature control using a "high flow" pressure regulator, Valterra A01-117VP Adjustable Water Regulator.

Until Jayco changes the 4-drawer moveable stack latch method, the unit will open while corning unless to add another type of latch.
