New Jayco Owner

Hello! After several frustrating years of owning a Forest River Banshee SV-1 pop up with multitudes of problems, we've just purchased our first Jayco! We're excited to be the proud owners of a 2015 Feather Ultra Lite X17Z. We haven't picked it up yet (we've got "camper school" this Saturday), but I wanted to thank you all in the forum for helping us make the decision to buy a Jayco. We searched this forum for issues and problems and found most of the problems you've all experienced were minor in nature. Since we've got a 2 year warranty, I'm feeling really good that this will be the RV that our family of 5 (my wife, a son age 10, and two daughters age 7 and 4).

Congrats...and welcome to the family. We are currently heading to Colorado, spending two months within the state. We are thinking about staying in Colorado Springs, Golden, CO and Gunnison, CO. Any suggestions on some nice campgrounds?

Happy and safe travels.

Thank you so much. We love staying at state parks. Hows the drive (roads) going up there? We are also visiting Gunnison... can one take the 24 to 50 safely?

We actually live in Gunnison. It's a beautiful time of year to visit. We recommend staying up Taylor Canyon in either the Lottis Creek or One Mile campgrounds. Both of these are well maintained forest service campgrounds. Around Colorado Springs, Cheyenne Mountain State Park is a very nice campground and very close to downtown Colorado Springs. It doesn't feel a whole lot like camping, but the evening views of the City skyline are pretty. We also enjoy Mueller State Park which isn't too far away. It is a very nice forested campground. We haven't camped much around Golden, but Chatfield State Park is very nice. Have fun!
