New Jayco owner from Alberta, Canada

Hello All.

I am Gerald. I am from Central Alberta, Canada.
My wife and I recently purchased an '02 Kiwi 17A.
We had the maiden voyage this weekend, and things were mostly good.

Here is a pic.

Nice Trailer!! Can you share with us as to what was NOT mostly good about the maiden voyage? Forget the beer? Sun screen? Significant other?

Well I found this trailer to rider VERY LOW.

I had already fabbed a skid plate for the drains, and it lost paint pulling out of my driveway.

The spare tire holder under the front of the frame, was all bent to hell when I bought it, and I "unbent" it back to original shape, so I could put the tire there again.

It scraped and actually stopped me from entering a parking lot, I had to back up onto the street again. It scraped at a second lot, but I got into the lot anyway, and it scraped once when crossing the normal dip in an intersection.

I came to this forum via googling for "lift kit" for this trailer.

That is the next step for sure.

Congrats and welcome to the forum! There is certainly a lot of knowledge here and hopefully some of the other kiwi owners can chime in your problem.

Someone down the street from me has likely the same model that was just purchased last fall, i watched them also scrape it just trying to get beside their garage and i haven't seen them take it out yet this year. I was looking one day while out for a walk and couldn't believe how low they are, i figured maybe his had a suspension issue of sorts. None the less i am sure there is a common fix for that problem by now!

Fabbed a 2.5" lift this evening. Only got one side done, so tomorrow night I'll do the driver side, and get the trailer down off the blocks.

I was worried 2" might not be enough, and 3" might get high, so I settled on 2.5" of lift.

Here's a pic of where it is now. It's gonna settle a bit from here still because the frame is on blocks.
