Hello,

We recently bought a Jayco Eagle 5th wheel. A 2001 285 BH. Very nice inside but needs a little work on the outside and really needs a good bath. A new window and new slide gasket are first up and tires before any real trips. Tires are good but past their "expiration date". Good roof and quite good structurally.

Lots of extras with it including the hitch, rails, controller and wiring. The previous owner delivered it Saturday, then we pulled all the towing things from his truck to install on my truck.

Everything works but one thing is working not quite right and kinda confusing. I thought I would find an adjustment but no so I'll be asking for a little help on the slide room later in the proper forum.

Wil

Congratulations and welcome to the forum.
You'll find lots of great help here on your 5er.
I hope you find it interesting getting her back to 100% and learning your way into your new rig.

Kind regards,
Doug

Welcome to the JOF, Merry Christmas, and please ask away about whatever you need in the way of help. And post pics of your new rig when you can.

Welcome and enjoy.
We have an old Eagle Motorhome and have fun working on it.
The new RV you have to take them to the dealer for anything.
Old RVs are like hobbies.

Thank you for the welcome and the reassurance of experienced advice. This is our first RV so I have a lot to learn. I guess the best place to talk about my slide issues is in Tech Talk?

Here are a couple of pics.

Welcome to JOF! Looks to be a well kept unit. Yes tech talk would be a good place to post your question. Enjoy the new unit, and the forum!

This is my TV. Not pretty but it does the job for me. Although I'll be a bit over the factory recommenced GCVW if the trailer goes to the full 9995# GVW, I don't think the truck will care. I'm anxious to install the 5th wheel so I can hitch up and see how it does.

I posted about my most immediate trailer concerns in TechTalk.

Thanks again,
Wil
