Hey guys this would be my first time on one of these along with me being a new trailer owner. I have had a 2004 30ft homestead settler for about 8 months now and am trading it in tomorrow for a 2011 Jayco Eagle 322 fks. I don't know if my truck is going to be able to pull it but man is she pretty. Wish me luck!

Welcome to the site. Let us know what truck you have and maybe we can give you some helpful information.

Thanks! Its a 2011 Chevy Silverado 1500HD. It has a 5.3l V8 with a K5L HD towing package, 3.42 rear end and a 6 speed tran.

Sorry and I have ten ply tires and a extra leaf in the back that give me an extra 900-1000 lbs pay load.

Welcome! Your truck is not gonna like you towing that camper! You are going to be way under powered and overloaded. You don't have a true 1500HD as they all sit on the 2500HD chassis with the 6.0L V8 and 8 lug wheels along with heavier suspension. You are gonna want at least a 3/4 ton.

Thanks so much for the input. I'm just going on what I was told at the dealership when they sold me the truck. I guess they will say anything for a sale.
I just got back from the RV dealership which is a three hr drive away which included a lot of hills and very high bridges. Believe it or not I had more trouble towing my old trailer than the new one. The only thing I can figure is the wind drag. The new trailer is a lot more aerodynamic than the old one.
I did have to get my hitch upgraded though. I had a minor hart attack when they put the trailer on my truck with out the weight distributing arms on and my truck sank to the ground. But after they put it on it was all good . Bottom line is this is my first Jayco product and I love it! and I hope my truck does too lol.
