I am new to the site and my wife and I are looking at purchasing our first travel trailer shortly. We have done quite a bit of research on different trailers and settled on either the Eagle 314BDS or the Bullet Premier 31BHPR. We are leaning more towards the eagle for the quality and reputation of Jayco but our local dealer doesn't seem very interested in putting a deal together that matches other pricing we have received. We plan on towing either trailer with a 2012 Ram 1500 and know we will eventually have to upgrade our truck if we purchase the eagle but plan on using the current truck for short trips while our trailer is new to us. I look forward to learning all I can from this site.

Welcome to the JOF mystic195! When shopping for that new first tt, it's so nice when you can narrow the choices down to a couple. If deciding on the Jayco, try calling around to different dealers in your region. The four hour drive from our dealer may have been further away, but we saved some big $$ by them working with us (click on the link in my signi below). If you wind up with the Eagle, definitely don't be a stranger. Happy shopping

Welcome from Central Illinois. We live in Urbana. I know a good dealer in Tilton, Illinois if you want to drive that far.

I actually am making a little progress on the purchase with our local dealers. We have the trailer down really close to $25k from the $38k sticker price. We are still considering all the options though and may wait to order one next year. We have a few prior commitments this year and aren't sure it will get used enough to justify the purchase until next spring.

We got a great deal out of Joliet, more than $10K off the sticker price. We live in Manteno, and it was well worth the 45-60 minute trip.
